Safeguarding

ProudMums CIC is committed to creating a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for mothers, children, families, volunteers and community members.

Our commitment

We take concerns about abuse, neglect, exploitation, harassment or unsafe practice seriously. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Activities should be planned and delivered in ways that promote dignity, respect, appropriate boundaries and safety.

Raising a concern

If you are worried about someone's safety during a ProudMums activity, tell the Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible. Information will be handled sensitively and shared only where necessary to protect someone or meet legal responsibilities.

Safeguarding Lead: Nusrat Acheampong
Email: nusratacheampong@yahoo.co.uk
Telephone: 07830 405918

Immediate danger

If someone is in immediate danger or a crime is taking place, contact the emergency services on 999. Safeguarding concerns may also need to be referred to the appropriate local authority or statutory service.

Volunteers and activities

ProudMums aims to use appropriate safer-recruitment, supervision, risk assessment and safeguarding procedures according to the nature of each role and activity. Where a role is eligible and requires it, appropriate DBS checks should be considered.

Policy status: Website safeguarding summary. ProudMums should maintain a fuller internal safeguarding policy and review it regularly.
